Not blown a Dorado before. Found it rather hard but with some shaving its coming along. Final judgement reserved.
Definitely needed a few adjustments, but it worked out really well in the end! Cane was very high quality and rolled right off.
Very happy with these reeds for grade 6 level, also excellent service
3 of the 4 reeds I ordered work really well with a lovely tone. The 4th needs a bit of work to make it crow properly.
Would purchase again, perhaps not during a lockdown though.
Ihave had a chance to blow this reed in and I think it was an excellent suggestion kindly made by the staff at C&S. A good choice of reed for a player that is beyond beginner but not yet an advanced player. It allows for a nice even tone throughout upper and lower registers, and is not as difficult to blow as the professional range of reeds.
Thank you for your advice. I think this was an excellent purchase and value for money.
Good quality reed with gorgeous mellow sound.
Reeds delivered promptly despite covid restrictions. Well made reed, a little less responsive than expected.
Having not played for 30 years I had been using some very old reeds I found in the case and then when they gave up on me, a 30 year old.plastic Reed.
What a transformation using these reeds. My sound is enjoyable again
These reeds were recommended for me by cork and staple and while one allows me to play a whole sonata, the other I find a bit hard and I only get through one movement.
This is the only reason for 4 stars rather than 5.
The positive is that both make a lovely sound and are even throughout the range. I can even find the top F again in the Mozart Quartet!
it has a great sound but it is still a bit too weak for me
These reeds are consistent and incredibly predictable. I order them in groups of 5 and they are all great. Their tones are all slightly different, however I have never had one that has not gone in to circulation in my reed case.
We are pleased to hear you love these reeds. There really isn't anything more satisfying than having reeds that just work for you! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Happy oboe-ing!
