Alaw bassoon reed a success

Very pleased with my new Alaw reed. Good tone and controllabillity.
Pitching accurately required a bit of getting used to at first but it now behaves very well excellent sound :and responsive .

A wonderful reed!

This is a fabulous reed. After its initial soak, it has always played immediately from the case. It produces a mellow, rather than a bright, sound - and that is my preference. The low notes are as easy to play (even quietly) as I have ever experienced in a reed. I will definitely be buying this reed again.

C&S "professional" reeds are not usually available so I bought this Argento six months ago. I liked it better than Alaw and Urbach, in fact it was so good I just bought another. The new one is every bit as good. No adjustment was needed, it worked well immediately.

Played beautifully straight out of the box

Very pleased with these, not too resistent or hard but also not too reedy/easy, just right for me with a good tone on a loree cor.

Fantastic reed

So relieved to find a reed that works for me. Fairly free blowing but with good depth of tone and stability. Good to go straight from the box. Perfect for me right now. Praying they remain consistent with their production. Very happy so far. Have bought several. Happy days.

Good seat strap for Bassoon

Been using my own home made for years, wanted an upgrade. This does the job, nice quality, good fit, and certainly eases left hand pressure. Two issues I have found is it does come away quite easily, would prefer to be able to tighten it a bit more than the velcro will allow.
It doesn't fit in the case very well?

not for students!

reeds were no good at all. far too hard. even our oboe teacher couldn't get a tune out of them. He even tried making them thiner. waste of money unfortunately.

Chance buy

I thought I'd try a different brand from my usual as I'm finding the reeds I usually buy not very reliable. I'm a self-taught hobby player and the intricacies of reed making and altering are beyond my understanding at the moment. I took a chance and this reed is playing in very well for me.

Very Pleased!

Having bought direct from Walter Urbach in the late 80s early 90s i know these reeds well. Great tone in all registers. Would always expect to tweak it a little.
